Position Summary
The Content Strategy Analyst plays a key role in helping the SDSU Alumni & Foundation acquire, retain, elevate, steward, and engage donors, alumni, and friends of the university. This position helps measure and assess the performance of campaigns across multiple channels and outreach efforts, making recommendations and proposing solutions to improve results. This role evaluates data and information from various sources to identify trends and deliver insights that strengthen donor engagement and outreach strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. At least three years of professional experience in related field (such as marketing and communication, data analytics, data visualization, information technology and systems, or report management) is required.

Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and some lifting. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephone, and other office and/or clerical equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, organize, segment, analyze, and validate data and information from multiple sources, communication channels, and internal teams.
- Prepare criteria and verify constituent lists for mass solicitations and outreach attempts.
- Analyze donor behavior and determine target audiences, developing audience personas that align with appropriate outreach and messaging strategies.
- Review KPIs and evaluate the effectiveness of various campaigns across multiple channels, including direct mail projects, A/B testing scenarios, digital interaction, and response rates.
- Utilize data to inform recommendations and propose solutions to optimize outreach and engagement throughout the donor relationship.
- Assist with direct mail solicitations and affiliated outreach across multiple channels.
- Maintain marketing plans, coordinate collaborative workflows, and support project progress for targeted fundraising initiatives.
- Monitor internal and industry trends related to donor engagement and annual giving programs.
- Prepare information and reports for regular Content Strategy team meetings and organization strategy meetings.
- Assist in the creation of social fundraising campaigns.
- Provide writing and editing support for outreach materials across multiple channels.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet the organization’s needs.

- Customer service skills requiring clear communication in person, on the phone, and in writing are essential.
- A high level of integrity, including ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to be organized and resourceful to locate and compile information and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
- Consistent attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment with professional demeanor, self-reliance, and resourcefulness.

- Proficient experience using the most recent versions of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (i.e. MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
